This girl is a tough one.

Well, I haven't updated in a while, and I have started to a few times, but sometimes it's hard to be able to sit and finish something I started. The main reason for that is because Aliza cries a lot. And I mean like, a lot. We have tried lots of different things to make her happy but nothing has worked yet. Now I am going to eat nothing but oatmeal, bananas and toast, and see if its lactose that bothers her. No milk or dairy at all. Her doctor says that after 3 months, her stomach should be able to handle more food. I hope this makes her a happier baby. It sucks right now because we are scared to take her anywhere. We (I) have been staying pretty close to home for a while now, and it getting old. I am ready to get out and do something!! But, when Aliza is not crying and awake, which is 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there, she is so cute. Like the most adorable little baby, cooing and smiling and showing her little dimple on her left cheek.   OMG – how cute is she??!! Her...

Alright, so Aliza, she sleeps A LOT!! Just not a lot at a time, which is wonderful for a breastfeeding mom. Can you hear the sarcasm? That means not a lot of sleep for me. It is really hard for me to sleep during the day, so I am really just tired all the time. But that is why you have maternity leave, right? To learn how this new little person works and teach them to sleep a long time at night – is that possible?? I’ll try…I had a few good nights, then a really bad one and another good one. I guess it is all up and down for the first few months. But she is just as precious as she can be. I know people say it’s gas, but I don’t believe it. I will look at her and smile and she smiles back. I just know it. And she has the cutest little dimple on her left cheek. I wish I could get a good picture of it. Its hard to time it just right… Marielle is really adjusting well to her new little sister. She gives her kisses and hugs anytime she sees her. She doesn’t seem to be jealous, except ...

Soon to be a family of 4 – like REALLY soon!

So, the day is almost here. I was hoping not to, but in my case of growing big babies and my aversion to c-sections, I am in the position to schedule an induction. I am so excited about the changes that are about to happen, but of course, totally scared!! We have been taking video’s of Marielle like never before and I have still been taking tons of pictures of her. I want to capture every moment of her as an “only” child. Even if she is only 15 months old.   (She loves her pa-pa!!) She has been talking a lot, repeating words we say, and pointing things out like dog and ball on her own. It is really fun to see her develop her little personality. I started talking to her about being a Big Sister and have been asking her, “Marielle, what are you going to be?” and she says, in a little person voice “sis-ter” which sounds nothing really like sister, but you can tell what she is saying. I have been telling her that she is going to be a great BIG sister, just like her Nanny Ally. Lo...

The INDUCTION…

Image
I went back to the doctor today and I am still 1 cm. I have been 1 centimeter for 3 weeks now. I was so hoping for more! Last week when I had an ultrasound, they estimated that the baby weighed about 7 lbs. 5 oz. Last weekend I had some contractions, 3 Friday and 3 Saturday that were back to back. I really thought I was getting ready, but I haven't had any contractions since then:( Booo!! So, when I went back to the doctor today, she said she felt most comfortable inducing me Tuesday or Wednesday, because I grow such big babies. She estimated that by then, the baby will be over 8 lbs. and then we worry about being able to deliver. I am totally scared of a c-section, so as much as i wanted to just go into labor this time, I guess an induction will have to do. I chose Wednesday, hopefully giving this baby enough time to come on its own. So, if I have not already gone into labor, Wednesday morning of next week (October 14), we go in at 4:00 am. Marielle still has no clue what is go...

OB update

I went to my OB yesterday and found out that I am 1 centimeter dilated and very soft. I am so excited because I never dilated with Marielle. I know I could be like this for a few weeks, but it is still encouraging that something is going on down there. It's getting close and I have to say, I am pretty nervous about having Marielle and a little baby. Marielle is doing well and very active, and that seems to be the problem! She is so active, running around everywhere and testing us all the time. For example, she'll look at the fireplace, think for a second, then walk towards it and look back at me or Jon and smile so big; she knows she is doing somthing wrong. Right now, as big as I am, and as tired as I am, it is so hard for me to run to her and remove her. But I have to, I can't let her think playing in the fireplace is ok! And if we go outside, she'll run directly into the street, looking back with that little deviant smile. That kind of stuff makes me nervous. How wi...
