Jon Gary turns 40
My man made it!! He made it to the big 4 – 0! To celebrate we had a pretty big party at our house. I have been planning this party for months and months. Jon knew about it, there’s no way I could have hid it from him - I’m just not that good!! There were lots of people, lots of food, lots of drinks. Here are the pics…prepare for a long post!!
My in-laws were great – they picked up my girls and took them to Jon’s sisters house for a few hours while I got ready. They brought them back, dressed and fed, right before the party started. That helped me out a TON!! Thanks Nonna and Grandy!!
The girls with our neighbor, Laura. Marielle loves it when people hold them both at the same time.
Me and my sis. I couldn’t have pulled this off with out her. She is a wonderful party planner extraordinaire!!
I had an idea a little while before the party to have these stickers made and pass them around for everyone to wear. They say, “I LOVE 40 year olds. Happy Birthday Jon Gary". I have to say, they were a hit, as you’ll see throughout the rest of the pics!
Love this pic!! It’s Jon’s sister Deidre and her two sons, Nick and Christen.
The neighbors brought Jello shots – brilliant idea!!
Jon’s brother Jed, the jambalaya cook.
Yard signs I had made for the party.
I gotta say, this one was brilliant. You might not be able to see or tell what this is, but it is a simple binder clip. Jon has used these binder clips as a wallet for years now. I have bought him wallets, money clips, etc. and he will not use them. He thinks these binder clips are the best way to keep his money and credit cards together. His co-worker and friend, Adam, had two binder clips ENGRAVED for him. It is hilarious!! One says “Head”, Jon’s nickname and the other has his initials, “JGG”. I gotta declare these as the best gift idea for Jon, I wish I would have thought of it!
Me and a Romero boy sandwich!!
Me and Jaret - our hired helper and Jon’s godchild! He did a great job of keeping the food fresh and trash picked up. Thanks Jaret!!
And I did it – I gave a little speech. I was totally freaking out about it, but I knew I had to do it. I had to thank everyone for coming, thank everyone for helping and I had to give my hubby his props for being the best hubby ever!! I think it went well, but by that time, things were a little fuzzy. It could have sucked and I bet no one would tell me!!
Here is where things are not only fuzzy – they were CRAZY!! My neighbor got out her wigs and I’m not quite sure what happened, but it was wild with the stickers and the wigs!!
The aftermath…lots to clean up and lots of leftovers.
All of it worth it for Jon Gary!!
I love you, Jon Gary – Happy 40th Birthday!!
I am going to have to steal the money clip idea. It's so funny because Gus is the exact same way. Everyone has bought him wallets and money clips and he will only use his trusty binder clip. Everyone makes fun of him for it. I had no idea Jon was the same way!
