Thanks Michelle!!

When I decided to quit work in March, my co-workers were very excited for me. They each expressed that they wish they could have stayed home at some point in their lives and were happy for me since I was lucky enough to be able to do it. While I was so scared of what I was about to embark on, they knew it would be a great experience, and so far it has been. One thing my co-worker Michelle suggested to me, was to have my mom watch the girls sometimes while I go work with my dad. If you don’t already know, my mom and dad own their own company ( Southeast Gate Operators ) and they are the only 2 that work there. I told my mom about Michelle’s suggestion that day and she thought it was a wonderful idea, so did my dad, and me! Every other Thursday, I bring the girls to my mom and I go to work – with my dad. It’s great!! It is the perfect little break and I get really excited to go pick the girls up. I don’t know anything that’s really going on there, but I can take a really good message

A Treat…

After running around the whole grocery store today, Marielle said she wanted a treat. I told her she had to do something good to get a treat, like sit in the cart and not get out until we paid and got to the car. She did it and I had to get her something. A treat to her is candy and if I could have thought faster, I would have gotten her a toy instead of candy. But I didn’t and I grabbed a twix in the cashier aisle. I knew it was a crappy idea, but I had to live up to my word. After getting home I had to run and get my camera and take pics of the disaster I created: Needless to say, she enjoyed her treat…

Games

My mom gave me a book, “ The Toddler’s Busy Book ”, and I have been reading and trying all kinds of activities to entertain my girls. Most of the games use things you have around the house and are easy to put together. The only problem is that Aliza isn’t ready for any of these “games” and eats everything. I have tried 2 similar matching games and we have to make sure Aliza isn’t around or isn’t paying attention so Marielle can play. Match the colored squares to the rectangles.            I just cut out the pieces of construction paper and covered them with contact paper. It was easy and she likes it. She knows her colors, so it doesn’t keep her occupied for long, but hey, 15 minutes is 15 minutes, right??!! Wrapping paper scraps! I saw this one day when we got a big box in the mail and thought the cardboard would be perfect.   I looked in my wrapping paper box and surprisingly found lots of scraps that couldn’t possible be used to wrap any decent present. I

LSU gameday!!

It’s something we look forward to every year and something my husband and Big Perm’s Tiger Tailgate take seriously. TAILGATING! For some reason, we love it and our weekends from September to December are already planned as soon as LSU’s football schedule is released every year. And since Jon’s brother Jeremi passed away 3 1/2 years ago, our tailgating crew has become an actual organized LLC. I’m so happy to be a part of this wonderful group of friends, dedicated to a great guy that we all lost too soon. Jon and I met on LSU’s campus tailgating in 2003. It was a brief introduction, but one neither of us will ever forget – LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!!! We talk about it often and laugh about what we thought of each other that day. Thank goodness for Helen!! She was our mutual friend and made sure we saw each other again. The rest is, of course, history. Almost 7 years of tailgating with this guy So cute!! Since the first 2 LSU games this year are away, our tailgate crew got as many togethe
