Girls Trip 2011!

I took a trip with my 3 best girlfriends last weekend. I’ll be very honest here and say that I was super skeptical about this trip. 2 of my friends and I live in here in Baton Rouge and my other friend, Julie, lives right outside of Dallas. When we started planning this trip, we were throwing around Vegas, the beach, and Biloxi. I was torn, should we do a party trip and be tired when we got home, or a relaxing trip and be rested to come home? Right away, Vegas was financially out of the question. Biloxi didn’t excite anyone and Julie’s too far for the beach. We needed a place in the middle. Julie said she always wanted to check out Natchitoches and do a tour. Hayley volunteered to look around the city and find a place for us to stay and a tour. This is when I got skeptical. I was like, “am I going to spend my girls weekend in NATCHITOCHES??” I wanted a little more excitement. I was looking forward to my fab four girl time, but I wasn’t sure about this small town in middle Louisiana.

I will say I was very pleasantly surprised! The house Hayley found for us to stay in was so cute, had plenty of room for us and was in walking distance of everything.

This house had all the little touches that you love to see when staying somewhere for a short weekend…

Hayley also found us a “Steel Magnolia’s tour” and we had our own tour guide get in our car and take us to all the houses and places where the movie was filmed. I was a little skeptical of this tour as well, but was very surprised and interested in everything we learned. I’ll put these pictures in an album and you can click on it if you are interested in on site Steel Magnolias filming…I wanted to caption them, but I can’t figure out how.

Then, of course, we left a little time to party and have some fun…

I had the best time!! I was scared it was going to be too short of a trip, but really it was perfect! I missed my hubby and my baby girls so much, I was ready to come home after 2 nights. It was just the getaway I needed. And Jon did great with the girls all weekend. It sounds like they all had fun and they didn’t miss me too much. Aliza didn’t even want to come to me when I came home . It didn’t take her long, but she stayed with her daddy for a while before giving me hugs (Jon loved every second of that!!).
