My Mother…

Image
I don’t say it enough or give her enough credit. I don’t take many pictures of her, I don’t tell her how much she is appreciated as often as I need to, and I really don’t know what I would do without her. My mom is truly the best. From the beginning of my life, my mom has made my sister and I her life. She undoubtedly did an amazing job of disciplining us, has always been incredibly loyal, and she ALWAYS made sure we knew she loved us – no matter what. She wanted so much for us, she really made us her very first priority. And we knew it.  She stayed home with us when we were real little and at some point she went back to work. But it wasn’t your typical job. She worked in my grandpa’s family business, with my dad, uncle and grandpa. It was very flexible and when she worked, my sister and I went to work with her. I spent all my summers at Hurricane Fence Company. I learned how to answer phones, fill some orders for my dad, fill out bank deposit slips, wash everyone’s cars, and p...

Marielle at the beach

Image
We just got back from Panama City, and I am planning a whole post about it, but I made this collage of how cute Marielle looked the first day after being on the beach. I think she was a little tired!! This chair was so cute and she just wanted to crawl up on it and cuddle…

Easter Day 2011

Image
It was a fun day spent at my sister in law, Dawn’s house. The Gary’s are big on pocking eggs. I never heard of it until I entered into the Gary family. If you are unfamiliar with this pocking thing, everyone has their own stash of eggs, dyed and decorated… then you take either the skinny end or fat end and hit them together with anyone else who has eggs. Whoevers egg breaks, looses and looses their egg to the stronger egg. The winner keeps both eggs. It looks something like this… or this… Or this… Or even this… My family came home with a few more eggs than we went there with = VICTORY!! There was also an egg hunt for the little ones. My girls are still not very interested in this egg hunt thing. They don’t quite understand it and were slow getting eggs, Uncle Jared had to help out and give them a few hints. Cassidy and Jaci racked up!! I never realized it, but Dawn and Ray’s backyard is a great place for pictures!! Those trees are lined up perfectly and I had fun just t...

So much Easter!

Image
There are Easter Egg Hunts all over town! I think Easter is bigger than Christmas around here. We have been to several hunts and have turned down several invites – I’m tired of candy!!! Nonetheless, they were each fun for the girls and they are learning more and more how this egg hunting thing works. Here are pics from her Easter party at school. I didn’t get too many – Aliza was a total CRAB and we left a little early… This was Marielle dancing before we left the house – she was EXCITED for her Easter party. Listening to Mrs. Tara read – until she turned the book over to me and I read to the class!! It was my first time!! They were very good listeners and participators… Craft time! While she looked cute – she wouldn’t stop fussing!! Even though we left early, Marielle still had fun and got her fair share of loot!! We’re still eating it… I tried to stage 2 hunts at home, to get them ready and understand what to do at an Easter Egg hunt. It didn’t work. I dropped all of our ...
